Victor Osimhen, reigning African Footballer of the Year, will receive a net salary of €6 million for the 2024-2025 season after completing a season-long loan to Turkish Super League giants Galatasaray from Napoli. The Turkish club confirmed the deal in an official statement on Wednesday.
This means the Nigerian Super Eagles striker will take home approximately €115,000 per week after tax during his stay in Turkey.
“An agreement has been reached with professional footballer Victor James Osimhen and his club SSC Napoli for the temporary transfer of the player free of charge,” Galatasaray announced. “The football player will be paid a net seasonal salary of €6,000,000 for the 2024-2025 season. It is respectfully announced to the public.”
Osimhen’s move to Turkey follows weeks of intense speculation linking him to Chelsea and Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli. However, negotiations with Chelsea collapsed late in the transfer window, and a proposed deal with Al Ahli also fell through, leaving the striker in a challenging situation.
Now set to play in Turkey until 2025, Osimhen will wear the number 45 jersey for Galatasaray. The agreement includes an option for Napoli to extend the player’s contract until 2027.
