President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm Christmas greetings to Nigerians, expressing optimism about the country’s journey toward restoration and progress.
In a statement personally signed on Tuesday, President Tinubu urged citizens to pray for their leaders at all levels, emphasizing collective support for achieving national prosperity.
“On this joyous Christmas Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings to Christians across Nigeria and worldwide as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, as narrated in the Holy Scriptures,” he stated.
“Nigeria is on a promising path of restoration and progress, with every indication pointing toward a bright future. In the spirit of this season, let us renew our hope and belief in a prosperous Nigeria,” he added.
The President called on Nigerians to embody the season’s values of love, peace, and unity while reaffirming faith in the nation’s potential.
“Let us extend similar support and prayers to our nation’s leaders. With your backing, we can serve our country diligently and strive for prosperity,” Tinubu said.
He highlighted the symbolism of Christmas as a reminder of divine prophecy and the triumph of light over darkness, resonating with people of all faiths.
Condolences for Recent Tragedies
President Tinubu also expressed sympathy for the victims of recent stampedes in Abuja, Ibadan, and Anambra State, which claimed multiple lives.
“These recent tragic events in Oyo, Okija, and Abuja deeply sadden us, and our thoughts are with those who continue to suffer from these heartbreaking incidents,” he said.
The President prayed for the affected families and hoped such misfortunes would not recur.
“I offer my deepest sympathies to the families enduring pain and loss this year, whether from floods, fires, or accidents. May we all find comfort and solace in our faith, the support of loved ones, and the abiding presence of Jesus Christ,” Tinubu added.
He concluded by urging Nigerians to stand together in unity and faith, promising that the government remains committed to ensuring a brighter and more secure future for all.
