The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has inaugurated a newly restructured Force Management Team (FMT) following the appointment of six new Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs). The move, announced on March 10, 2025, aims to enhance the administration and efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force.
During the inauguration, the IGP reiterated his commitment to a professional, service-driven, and people-focused police force aligned with the Federal Government’s agenda. He emphasized the need for modern policing strategies, including restructuring the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) and other investigative units.
As part of the reforms, Egbetokun directed an update of the Force criminal database and instructed the Department of Research and Planning to collaborate with the ICT and Intelligence units to enhance crime-fighting capabilities. He also stressed the importance of equipping officers with advanced technology and training to improve investigative efficiency while upholding professionalism and human rights.
The newly inaugurated team is expected to drive key reforms, ensuring a more effective and responsive police force to enhance national security.
