Telecommunications and digital services provider, Globacom, has unveiled its Examination Preparatory Service, aimed at improving students’ performance in computer-based tests, including national examinations such as JAMB, WAEC, and international tests like IELTS.
In a statement issued in Lagos, Globacom said the service was introduced in response to the rising concern over poor academic performance, particularly following the recently released 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results. Over 1.5 million out of the 1.9 million candidates scored below 200, with more than 50% falling within the 160-199 range, according to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
“The Glo Examination Preparatory Service is designed to help secondary school students and other exam candidates develop familiarity with exam formats, identify knowledge gaps, and sharpen their test-taking skills,” the company stated.
The service provides tailored content for up to 20 subjects, covering exams such as the Junior and Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (JSCE/SSCE), UTME, A-Levels, and IELTS. Students can access the service by dialing 207916# on their Glo lines and selecting their preferred exam. Each subscription grants access to categorized materials, including educational videos, sample questions, and revision guides.
According to Globacom, the platform uses active recall and interactive learning techniques to reinforce key concepts and boost long-term retention. It also provides tips on navigating computer-based exams, helping students overcome anxiety and improve accuracy.
Additionally, users will have the opportunity to participate in trivia quizzes aligned with exam syllabuses. High performers stand a chance to win cash prizes, data bundles, and airtime rewards as further motivation.
Globacom emphasized that the service aligns with its commitment to using digital tools to empower Nigerian youths academically and bridge the learning gap created by socioeconomic challenges.
