Fidelity Bank Donates to Yaba Old People’s Home

Fidelity Bank Plc has restated its commitment to community welfare through the donation of food and essential items to the Old People’s Home in Yaba, Lagos.

The initiative was executed by the bank’s Nexus Inductees Class under its Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP), a flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform that enables staff to identify and support impactful community projects.

Through FHHP, staff across Fidelity Bank’s branches mobilize funds for charitable initiatives, which the bank then matches naira-for-naira to support selected projects.

Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, Divisional Head, Brand and Communications at Fidelity Bank, emphasized the bank’s dedication to uplifting its host communities.

“Today’s donation is our way of appreciating the senior citizens who helped raise generations that now trust Fidelity Bank. This reflects our ongoing commitment to preserving their dignity and well-being,” Nwagboh said.

The Director-in-Charge of the Home, Adetutu Ipaye, commended the gesture, noting that corporate support remains crucial to sustaining the home’s operations.

“Acts like this from Fidelity Bank significantly improve the quality of life of our elderly residents. We encourage other organizations to emulate this,” she said.

A resident of the home, Mr. Kamoru Adeyetu, expressed appreciation on behalf of the beneficiaries. “Your visit means more than the gifts. It brings us joy and hope—please remember to come again,” he said.

Fidelity Bank, which serves over 9.1 million customers through 255 business offices and digital channels in Nigeria and the UK, has received multiple awards for innovation and CSR, including the 2024 Most Innovative Mobile Banking App by Global Business Outlook and Excellence in Digital Transformation by BusinessDay.
