Access Bank Plc has reiterated its commitment to fostering Africa–Caribbean trade relations and building strategic partnerships through its active participation in the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF) 2025, held recently in Grenada.
The forum brought together influential leaders from both regions, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo; Grenadian Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell; St. Kitts & Nevis Prime Minister Terrance Drew; Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Chairman of Access Holdings Plc; Dr. George Elombi, incoming President of the African Export–Import Bank (Afreximbank); Prof. Benedict Oramah, outgoing Afreximbank President; Kanayo Awani, Afreximbank Executive Vice President; and Sunmbo Olatunji, Access Bank’s CEO for Caribbean Expansion.
Olatunji, who served as a panelist on “AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment: From Vision to Reality,” emphasised the Bank’s role in unlocking trade, investment, and financial connectivity between Africa and the Caribbean. She highlighted opportunities in tourism, agriculture, renewable energy, and digital trade, noting that Access Bank aims to act as “a bridge linking the immense potential of both regions” through strategic partnerships and innovative financial solutions.
Aig-Imoukhuede attended as a VIP guest, engaging in high-level discussions on strengthening economic cooperation, underscoring Access Holdings’ focus on building sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships across emerging markets.
The Bank’s presence at ACTIF 2025 aligns with its ongoing Caribbean expansion and its long-standing collaboration with Afreximbank to promote trade finance, capacity building, and investment facilitation.
The event served as a platform for policymakers, business leaders, and development partners to advance dialogue on trade facilitation, investment flows, and cultural exchange, reinforcing the growing synergy between Africa and the Caribbean.
