Telecommunications operator, Globacom, rewarded several of its subscribers with cash prizes in the ongoing Glo Jolly Product Cash Awards, with presentation ceremonies held simultaneously across multiple cities last Friday.
Winners emerged in different categories, including Jolly Life Lottery, Jolly Wheel, Jolly Win, and Jolly Trivia.
The star prize of ₦1 million went to 69-year-old technician, Sunday Efenure, from Edo State, who won through the Jolly Wheel category. Overwhelmed by the win, Efenure admitted he initially dismissed the news as a scam. “With the rate of scams in the country, I didn’t believe it at first. My wife encouraged me, and I even sent my son to verify before I decided to attend. I thank Glo for this life-changing gift,” he said.
Other winners included Esther Clifford from the Federal Capital Territory and Taiwo Oni from Ibadan, both of whom received ₦500,000 each. Oni’s twin brother, Kehinde, celebrated the win with excitement, declaring in pidgin, “E chop am o!” before deciding to purchase a Glo SIM to participate in the Jolly games.
In Warri, Delta State, Christopher Onajobhe won ₦200,000 under the Jolly Win category, while Denem Usman Maji from Nasarawa, Godwin Udanna from Onitsha, and Ijeoma Anogwa from Enugu also secured prizes ranging from ₦100,000 to ₦200,000.
Speaking at the Lagos event, Globacom’s Head of Value Added Services, Mojeed Aluko, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to empowering its loyal subscribers. He encouraged more customers to participate by dialing *13199# to join the list of potential winners.
Tolulope Aminu, representing Tetragrammaton International, Globacom’s partner on the project, congratulated the winners and urged subscribers to continue playing and sharing the opportunity with others.
