As Nigerian businesses grapple with increasing supply chain risks, Stanbic IBTC Insurance Brokers, a subsidiary of Stanbic IBTC Holdings, has announced plans to host a webinar on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
The session, themed “Smart Insurance for Savvy Businesses: Understanding Marine and Goods-in-Transit Insurance,” will equip business leaders with strategies to safeguard goods in transit and ensure operational continuity.
Highlighting the importance of the event, Anselem Igbo, Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Insurance Brokers, stressed that proactive risk management is essential in today’s uncertain environment. “Uncertainty is a reality that businesses cannot ignore, especially when goods are in transit or crossing borders. Businesses should not merely react to disruptions but anticipate and prepare for them. This webinar will show how the right insurance solutions can protect assets and strengthen resilience,” he said.
The webinar will feature Austin Zelma Omoike, Administrative Manager at Boldars Plus Nigeria Limited, as guest panellist. He will share insights on the risks associated with transporting goods locally and internationally, and how insurance can provide a safety net against losses from theft, damage, or delays.
With trade volumes rising and e-commerce expanding, reliance on logistics has intensified. Yet, many small and medium enterprises (SMEs) remain unaware of how insurance can protect them from unforeseen disruptions, leaving them vulnerable to financial shocks.
Stanbic IBTC Insurance Brokers said the initiative is part of its broader commitment to supporting Nigerian businesses by promoting insurance adoption as a strategic growth tool.
The webinar is open to entrepreneurs, SMEs, corporate executives, and professionals across all sectors. Interested participants are encouraged to register in advance to secure their spot.
