Water Security Africa Johannesburg is set to host a two-day executive dialogue on November 4–5, 2025, at The Maslow Hotel, Sandton, aimed at addressing South Africa’s escalating water security challenges across key industries.
The event will bring together leaders from agriculture, mining, manufacturing, food and beverage, and hospitality sectors for a series of facilitated discussion sessions designed to provide actionable frameworks for managing water-related risks and ensuring long-term operational resilience.
One of the highlights of the conference, “Do We Really Have a Water Problem at Scale?”, will feature top executives from leading South African companies discussing the realities of the country’s water crisis. The session will examine infrastructure reform, licensing bottlenecks, and the balance between environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals and industrial demands.
Other key sessions include “Securing Operations Across Sectors – From Field to Factory,” showcasing case studies on irrigation efficiency, water reuse, and industrial recovery, with insights from Coca-Cola Beverages Africa and NEPAD.
Additional sessions such as “Banking on Water Security” and “From Farm to Facility” will explore financing models for large-scale efficiency projects, compliance strategies, and AI-powered monitoring solutions. Mining and manufacturing experts will also share innovations in water reuse and rehabilitation in “From Pit to Plant,” featuring case studies from Harmony Gold and Glencore.
The conference will conclude with “Wastewater to Wealth Water,” a collaborative session focused on turning insights into practical circular water value strategies.
Organisers said the event aims to move executives and sustainability managers from discussion to implementation, strengthening corporate readiness for South Africa’s mounting water challenges.
