The President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, has assured Nigerians of uninterrupted fuel supply and price stability during the upcoming festive season, despite recent increases in global oil prices.
Highlighting the transformative impact of the Dangote Refinery, Dangote said the facility has begun reshaping Nigeria’s energy landscape by stabilising fuel supply, strengthening the naira, and reducing capital flight.
“Nigerians today buy petrol at roughly half the price of what our neighbours pay, and it is even cheaper than in Saudi Arabia,” he stated. “Our product meets Euro VI standards, providing cleaner, higher-quality fuel that has drastically reduced the dumping of toxic fuel into our market.”
Dangote reaffirmed the refinery’s commitment to maintaining consistent distribution nationwide. “In the last three days, we have witnessed an eight percent spike in global oil prices,” he said. “But I want to assure Nigerians that the Dangote Refinery will maintain uninterrupted petrol supply throughout the festive period. For the first time in many years, Nigerians can look forward to a Christmas and New Year free of fuel anxiety.”
He expressed appreciation to the Federal and Lagos State Governments, as well as the company’s host community in Lekki, for their continued support.
“This expansion is not just about capacity; it is about confidence — in our people, in our government, and in our continent,” Dangote remarked. “Together, we are building a stronger Nigeria and redefining what is possible for Africa.”
He further called on other investors holding refinery licences to emulate the initiative, urging collaboration in realising President Bola Tinubu’s vision of positioning Nigeria as Africa’s refining hub.
“When Africa builds its own capacity, it builds its own destiny,” Dangote concluded.
