NNPC Limited noted that the cause of the explosion has not yet been determined, adding that a detailed investigation is currently underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The company said its immediate priority is ensuring the safety of residents in the affected communities, as well as protecting the environment.
It also disclosed that emergency response procedures have been activated, with NNPC Limited working closely with relevant authorities and community leaders to ensure a coordinated response aimed at mitigating the impact of the incident.
“NNPC Limited remains committed to the highest safety and environmental standards,” the statement said, adding that further updates would be provided as more verified information becomes available.
