By Ayomide Otitoju

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), in partnership with the Lagos State Drivers Institute (LASDRI), has successfully concluded a comprehensive training programme for operational personnel under the Bus Reform Initiative.

The programme targeted drivers, ground staff, and ticketing officers, focusing on safe driving practices, professional conduct, and customer service. The initiative aims to strengthen regulated, safe, and customer-focused public transport in Lagos State.

Speaking at the closing session, Dr. Stephen Ogunkoya, representing LAMATA’s Head of Bus Service, Dr. Kemi Amure, emphasized the importance of professionalism among drivers as frontline representatives of the Lagos State Government. “This is more than just a training; it is a vital investment in your career and in the future of public transportation in Lagos,” he said, urging participants to uphold high standards in their daily operations.

The initiative reflects LAMATA’s ongoing commitment to improving service quality, safety, and public confidence in the state’s transport reforms.
