Grammy Award-winning Nigerian artiste Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, is set to headline the grand finale of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Fan Zone concerts in Rabat, Morocco.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the lineup in a post on its official channels, revealing that Burna Boy will perform alongside British rapper Stormzy, Ghanaian star Stonebwoy and Moroccan singer Jaylann. CAF also released promotional posters for the event, describing it as the finale of the #TotalEnergiesAFCON2025 Fan Zone Concerts.
Branded “The AFCON Last Dance,” the concert will take place on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the OLM Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat, with performances beginning at 8:00 p.m. local time.
The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations kicked off on December 21, 2025, with music playing a prominent role throughout the tournament. The opening ceremony in Rabat featured Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, known professionally as Davido, alongside French Montana and Moroccan producer RedOne. Their performance, titled Le Show, preceded Morocco’s opening match against Comoros at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.
CAF said Davido’s inclusion reflected the spirit of the tournament, noting that the Afrobeats star has helped project African music onto the global stage with a sound associated with celebration, confidence and continental pride.
The finale concert comes days after Morocco eliminated Nigeria from the tournament. The hosts defeated the Super Eagles 4–2 on penalties following a goalless 120 minutes in their semi-final clash in Rabat. Although goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali saved one penalty, misses from Samuel Chukwueze and Bruno Onyemaechi proved costly, with Youssef En-Nesyri converting the decisive kick.
Nigeria will now face Egypt in the third-place match on Saturday, January 17, at the Mohammed V Stadium, while Morocco will take on Senegal in the final on Sunday, January 18, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium. Kick-off for the final is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET, as Morocco chase their first AFCON title since 1976.
Nigerian artistes continue to feature prominently at major international events. Stars such as Wizkid, Rema, Tiwa Savage, CKay and Patoranking have all performed on global stages in recent years. Wizkid made history in July 2023 as the first African artiste to headline a concert at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London and later that year became the first African musician to top the bill at the Glastonbury Festival.
Tiwa Savage was the only Nigerian performer invited to the coronation concert of King Charles III in 2023, while Rema became the first Nigerian artiste to perform at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in France in October 2023, where he delivered his global hit Calm Down.
