Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to sustaining strong support and partnership with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to enhance security across the state.
The governor made this known on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, and his delegation to Lagos House, Marina.
Sanwo-Olu described Lagos as a strategic hub critical to Nigeria’s economic growth, stressing that the state government would continue to provide the necessary support to safeguard key installations and facilities of the Nigerian Air Force within the state.
He commended the Air Force for consistently deploying competent and professional officers to Lagos, noting that the long-standing collaboration between the state and the NAF has continued to yield positive outcomes.
“Lagos is alive to its responsibility. The Nigerian Air Force and the Lagos State Government have been in partnership for a long time. There are strategic installations and facilities in Lagos that we must continue to safeguard,” the governor said.
“We are pleased with the level of relationship we currently enjoy. Lagos is important and strategic to the economic progress of our country, and we will continue to lead and provide the necessary support,” he added.
Earlier, the Chief of Air Staff praised Governor Sanwo-Olu for his purposeful transformation and visionary leadership in Lagos State, describing the state as the heartbeat of Nigeria.
Air Marshal Aneke reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s readiness to collaborate closely with the Lagos State Government to strengthen security in the state and across the country.
He noted the historical ties between Lagos and the Air Force, adding that the visible infrastructural development, improved transport systems, and ongoing reforms in the state underscore the impact of the governor’s leadership.
According to Aneke, the enduring relationship between Lagos State and the Nigerian Air Force remains vital and will continue to be strengthened through strategic partnership and collaboration.
