Mikel Arteta has expressed full confidence in Bukayo Saka with Everton, Arteta defended his forward’s performance.
“What he’s doing for us, for this club, is just incredible at his age, and he’s continued to have that massive impact for us,” Arteta said. “We fully trust him and love him. He can have an individual performance that is not probably a reflection of his level, like every human, every player in the world. But overall, his strength and the impulse he brings to the team is just incredible.”
Arsenal strengthened their bid for their first league title since 2004 last week, defeating Brighton & Hove Albion while second-placed Manchester City drew with Nottingham Forest, giving the Gunners a seven-point advantage.
Arteta, however, stressed that the title must still be earned. “Every game that you win now is a massive step towards the objective,” he said. “Tomorrow we have a very difficult one. We value the position we have right now, but how we finish the season depends on us. Our focus is on what we have to do, maintain, and improve together.”
