The Research, Technology and Innovation Division (NNPC RTI) of NNPC Limited is set to host the 3rd Meeting of the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization (APPO) Forum for Research and Development Directors, bringing together R&D leaders from member countries across the continent.
The forum will take place from 20 to 23 April 2026 at the PTDF Towers in Abuja, in collaboration with the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF). The meeting is themed “From Vision to Value: Accelerating Collaborative R&D and Innovation for a Sustainable African Energy Future” and is aimed at deepening cooperation and strengthening research and innovation across Africa’s petroleum industry.
The opening session will feature addresses from the APPO Secretary General, H.E. Farid Ghezali; the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, PhD; and the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari.
Activities lined up for the four-day programme include facility tours, visits to research institutions, plenary and technical sessions focused on strategic R&D initiatives, as well as a dinner and cultural night.
NNPC RTI says the forum underscores its commitment to advancing research, technology, and innovation to support sustainable energy development in Nigeria and across Africa.
