Engr. Olasunkanmi Okusaga, Technical Adviser on Public Transport Rail at the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), has received a National Conference Excellence Award from The Mirror newspaper in recognition of his contributions to urban mobility in Lagos State.
The award, presented at a ceremony held at the LCCI Conference and Exhibition Centre, honoured individuals described as “Heroes of Our Time” for their professional impact on improving the lives of Nigerians.
This year’s event was themed “X-raying the Salt: Safeguarding Nigerian Health.”
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the occasion, Asiwaju Kunle Kalejaiye (SAN), stressed the importance of civic participation and professional integrity in driving national development, urging Nigerians to remain actively engaged in nation-building.
In his remarks after receiving the award, Okusaga dedicated the recognition to the Lagos State Government’s commitment to developing a modern, multimodal transport system.
He reaffirmed that rail transportation remains central to the state’s mobility plans, noting that sustained investment is focused on delivering an efficient and dignified mass transit system for residents.
