Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has declared that no team in Europe is currently stronger than his side, as the French champions prepare for their UEFA Champions League semi-final clash against Bayern Munich.
Speaking ahead of the first leg at the Parc des Princes, Enrique described the fixture as a meeting of Europe’s top teams, while also acknowledging the strong season of Arsenal.
“These are the two best teams in Europe, even if Arsenal have also had a great season,” he said. “In terms of consistency, maybe Bayern are a little bit above us, but we have shown that no team is better than us.”
PSG are competing in their third consecutive Champions League semi-final since Enrique took charge in 2023 and are aiming to secure back-to-back titles after winning the competition for the first time last season.
The Spanish coach expressed confidence in his squad’s ambition to go further in the tournament, describing their progress as both deserved and motivating.
PSG and Bayern have faced each other three times since last season, with both sides recording victories across different competitions, underlining the competitiveness of the tie.
Enrique also provided a positive update on squad fitness, confirming that Portuguese midfielder Vitinha is available after missing recent matches due to injury. Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz has also returned to action, making his first start in three months during PSG’s 3-0 Ligue 1 win over Angers.
