Sanwo-Olu Sympathises with Basiru Over Mother’s Passing

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended his condolences to the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, following the death of his mother, Alhaja Sidikat Abake Basiru.

Alhaja Basiru passed away in the early hours of Sunday.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu urged the bereaved family, friends and associates to accept the loss as the will of Allah.

The governor described the late Alhaja Basiru as a woman who lived a fulfilled life, raised worthy children and made a lasting impact on her community.

He said the death of a loved one is always painful but urged the family to take solace in the fact that she lived a good and impactful life.

“On behalf of my wife, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, our family, the Lagos State Government and all APC leaders and members in Lagos, I sympathise with Senator Ajibola Basiru, his siblings and the entire Basiru family on the demise of Alhaja Sidikat Abake Basiru,” the governor said.

He noted that the wisdom and counsel of the deceased would be greatly missed by her family, community, friends and all who knew her.

Sanwo-Olu prayed that Allah grants the late Alhaja Sidikat Abake Basiru Aljanah Firdaus and gives Senator Basiru and the entire family the strength to bear the loss.
