Barcelona Open to Kounde Sale if £51m Offer Arrives

Barcelona are reportedly prepared to consider selling defender Jules Kounde during the summer transfer window if they receive an offer of around £51 million.

The France international has attracted interest from Bayern Munich and Chelsea in recent weeks, but no formal bid has yet been submitted.

According to reports, Barcelona are not actively seeking to part ways with the 27-year-old but would be willing to negotiate a transfer if their valuation is met.

Bayern Munich are understood to have expressed interest in Kounde, although their current valuation of approximately £34 million falls well below Barcelona’s asking price.

Kounde joined the Catalan club from Sevilla in 2022 and has since made 188 appearances in all competitions. During his time at Camp Nou, he has won seven major trophies, including three La Liga titles.

Although signed primarily as a centre-back, Kounde has spent much of his Barcelona career playing at right-back and has established himself as one of the club’s most consistent performers.

He enjoyed another impressive campaign in the 2025–26 season, making 47 appearances across all competitions while contributing three goals and four assists.

Barcelona have yet to receive a concrete offer for the French defender, and negotiations remain at an early stage. The Spanish champions are not expected to accept any bid significantly below their £51 million valuation.

Kounde is currently on international duty with France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he is preparing for Saturday’s third-place playoff against England. He is expected to return to Barcelona for pre-season in August following the tournament.
