The NNPC Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of NNPC Limited, in partnership with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has continued its nationwide Financial Literacy Programme aimed at equipping young Nigerians with financial management and entrepreneurial skills.
The latest session, held for Batch B, Stream 2 corps members at the FCT NYSC Orientation Camp in Kubwa, Abuja, focused on strengthening participants’ financial knowledge and preparing them for entrepreneurship.
Speaking at the programme, Acting Managing Director of the NNPC Foundation, Euginia Dominion, urged the participants to take advantage of the initiative to develop sound financial habits and build sustainable businesses.
Dominion said the programme, which began in 2023 with Kudimata Nigeria Limited as its consultant, had recorded significant impact among young Nigerians.
She disclosed that 531 participants received business grants and starter packs in May 2025 after successfully undergoing a competitive assessment of their business proposals.
The FCT NYSC Coordinator, Samson Ateli, commended NNPC Limited for sustaining the initiative, saying it had helped transform the mindset of corps members by promoting financial prudence, self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
The programme has so far trained more than 1.3 million corps members across the country, helping to improve financial literacy among Nigerian youths while creating opportunities for entrepreneurship and job creation.
The initiative forms part of the NNPC Foundation’s broader youth empowerment efforts and its contribution to economic development by preparing young Nigerians to become financially responsible citizens, entrepreneurs and employers of labour.
