Ipswich Town manager Gary O’Neil has completed a double signing raid on his former club Strasbourg, bringing in Julio Enciso and Abdoul Ouattara ahead of the new Premier League season.
Enciso has returned to Ipswich in a deal reportedly worth £25 million after previously spending six months on loan at the club from Brighton in 2025.
The Paraguay international impressed during his time in France under O’Neil after joining Strasbourg in September 2025. He subsequently agreed to a five-year contract with Ipswich following O’Neil’s move to the English club.
“I really enjoyed my time on loan at the club and I was so happy to see them win promotion back to the Premier League last season,” Enciso said.
“I worked with the manager in France last season and the chance to play for him again at a great club like Ipswich is one I’m very excited for.”
Ipswich secured promotion to the Premier League in May under Kieran McKenna, who left the club at the end of last season.
O’Neil also reunited with Ivorian forward Ouattara, who joined Ipswich ahead of their Premier League opener against Sunderland on Saturday.
The 20-year-old signed a contract running until 2031 after completing a reported £17 million transfer.
“Abdoul is a talented young player who can play in different positions, so is a very good addition to our squad,” O’Neil said.
“We enjoyed working with him in France last season and are delighted to have the opportunity to do so again at Ipswich.”
