Access Holdings Extends Rights Issue Deadline to August 23

By Ayomide Otitoju

Access Holdings Plc has extended the acceptance period for its ongoing Rights Issue, moving the deadline from August 14, 2024, to August 23, 2024. This extension, approved by the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), comes in response to recent nationwide protests that have disrupted business operations across Nigeria.

In a statement signed by the Group’s Company Secretary, Sunday Ekwochi, the decision was explained as an effort to provide shareholders with additional time to exercise their rights. “The extension is intended to ensure that all shareholders have the opportunity to subscribe amid the current challenging circumstances,” Ekwochi stated.

During this extended period, trading activities by the Company’s insiders will be limited strictly to participation in the Rights Issue, as previously authorized by the Exchange. This restriction will remain in effect until 24 hours after the publication of the Company’s Interim Financial Statements for the period ending June 30, 2024.
