Ahead of the National Youth Conference scheduled for the first quarter of 2025, Sam Adeyemi, Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre in Lagos, has called on President Bola Tinubu to present a strong, long-term vision for Nigeria’s future. Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise program on Saturday, Adeyemi emphasized the need for the President to provide a clear depiction of what Nigeria will look like in the next 30 years.
“Mr. President needs to present a 3D picture of what Nigeria will be like in 30 years,” Adeyemi stated, stressing that leaders must focus on transforming the mindset of Nigerians to create sustainable change. He highlighted that lasting progress can only be achieved by shifting the population’s beliefs and cultural mindset.
Adeyemi shared a conversation with a former governor who expressed concern over the lack of vision within his cabinet. “My biggest problem is not infrastructure,” the former governor told Adeyemi. “It’s mindset. One of my commissioners even said, ‘The governor keeps talking about vision. Will we eat vision?’”
The pastor criticized the absence of vision among leadership figures, calling for a shift in this mentality to support national development.
Additionally, Adeyemi addressed the deeper psychological barriers hindering progress in Nigeria. “Sustainable change cannot happen without addressing the subconscious,” he explained. “You can’t kill a habit; you have to replace it with a new one — nature abhors a vacuum
