Africa Data Centres, CSSi SA Seal Partnership to Strengthen SA Data Infrastructure

By Ayomide Otitoju

Africa Data Centres, a subsidiary of Cassava Technologies and a leading provider of carrier-neutral data centre infrastructure, has entered a strategic partnership with CSSi SA, a major cloud and virtual machine provider and one of Africa’s largest distributors of data storage, servers and data-centre hardware.

The collaboration will see CSSi SA deploy new racks and deliver enhanced data-sovereignty solutions for South African customers, supported by up to three tiers of redundancy across multiple data-centre locations. The rollout will take place at Africa Data Centres’ CPT1 facility in Cape Town and JHB1 facility in Johannesburg, both of which are connected via 100GB links to CipherVault™, CSSi SA’s data centre in Midrand. The new capacity is expected to meet rising demand for resilient, next-generation data-storage and colocation services in the country.

Adil El Youssefi, Chief Executive Officer of Africa Data Centres, said CSSi SA’s expansion into its facilities reflects the mounting need for secure and high-performance digital infrastructure as businesses accelerate their digital transformation.

“As organisations across South Africa and the broader African market advance their digital strategies, the need for scalable, compliant and resilient infrastructure has never been greater,” he said. “This partnership reinforces our shared commitment to supporting enterprises with the reliability and security required to manage expanding data volumes amid increasingly complex regulations.”

CSSi SA’s CipherVault™ facility in Midrand will be directly linked to Africa Data Centres’ JHB1 site, enabling seamless connectivity, enhanced redundancy and improved operational efficiency for clients.

James Grcic, CEO of CSSi SA, described the partnership as a critical step toward offering flexible, cost-efficient data-centre solutions to businesses of all sizes.

“Our ability to scale, collaborate with South Africa’s leading data-centre provider, and leverage economies of scale to reduce operational costs for our customers has always driven this relationship,” he said. “As one of Africa’s largest distributors of storage and server hardware, we provide a one-stop solution backed by over 99.9% uptime. This partnership allows SMBs and resellers to migrate into top-tier data-centre environments at costs up to 65–70% lower than expected, while preparing for AI and GPU-driven services.”

He added that CSSi SA’s 15 years of operational experience made Africa Data Centres the natural partner for expanding its footprint in South Africa.

Adil El Youssefi noted that the alliance positions both companies to serve growing market needs for data sovereignty, low-latency connectivity and world-class infrastructure.

“With increasing demand for advanced hardware technologies and guaranteed uptime, this partnership offers South African clients high-performance solutions delivered locally with the lowest latency and nationwide reach,” he said.
