Femi Adeniran, Director of Corporate Communications and CSR at Airtel Nigeria, has advocated for a human-centric approach to workforce transformation in light of rapid technological advancements. His comments came during a panel discussion titled “Building a Workforce for the New Era: Talent, Technology, and Transformation,” held at the 2025 Career Fair organized by Pan-Atlantic University on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
Adeniran emphasized the need for organizations to prioritize clear corporate communication, continuous learning, and reverse mentoring to cultivate a resilient and future-ready workforce. He noted the critical role of effective corporate communication in enhancing workforce agility and driving innovation.
“Organizations that excel in transparent and engaging communication are better equipped to seamlessly integrate digital tools while maintaining a strong human connection,” he stated. “It’s not just about technology; it’s about empowering people through effective engagement and purpose-driven messaging.”
He also encouraged organizations to invest in upskilling and reskilling their employees, underscoring the importance of a proactive approach to talent development that keeps employees relevant amid industry changes. Adeniran highlighted Airtel Nigeria’s commitment to fostering talent via initiatives like the “Open Talent Economy,” aimed at preparing undergraduates for the evolving demands of the modern workforce.
The panel featured prominent industry experts, including Olabisi Omoregie, Head of Corporate Services at Fast Credit Ltd, and Abike Wesey, General Manager of HR & Admin at Mutual Benefits Assurance. Moderated by Dr. Ruth Karachi Benson Oji, the discussion addressed the impact of artificial intelligence, automation, and digital transformation on employment. Panelists noted that while technology is reshaping job functions, human adaptability, emotional intelligence, and strategic foresight remain essential.
