Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo and the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) have approved the modification and completion of the abandoned court building within the Court of Appeal Complex in Awka, alongside the renovation and upgrade of associated structures.
State Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, said the decision was made at the 23rd ANSEC meeting held on Monday, 17th November 2025, at the new government house, Light House Awka. The Council also approved the rehabilitation of failed portions of Court Road and Obunagu Road within the Awka metropolis.
The move follows recent approvals for the upgrade of the State High Court in Awka and the furnishing of judges’ residences at the judge’s quarters in Onitsha, as part of Governor Soludo’s ongoing regeneration projects.
Mefor noted that these initiatives reflect the administration’s broader effort to transform Anambra into a hub for innovation, economic growth, and business activities, likened to a “Dubai-Taiwan Silicon Valley” in Nigeria.
The commissioner highlighted key achievements under the governor, including extensive road and flyover constructions, urban regeneration with modern drainage systems, expansion of healthcare facilities with telemedicine, and the employment of over 8,200 teachers across smart schools offering free education.
Security improvements have also been prioritised, with the introduction of the Agunechemba security system and Operation Udo Ga-Achi, designed to strengthen law enforcement and prevent crime in the state.
These developments form part of Governor Soludo’s comprehensive infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security agenda aimed at modernising Anambra State.
