The Celestial Church of Christ, Archdiocese National Headquarters, Makoko, Lagos, will celebrate its 53rd annual Juvenile Harvest on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Themed “Gift of Christ,” the event is a significant highlight in the church’s calendar, centered on the spiritual nurturing of children within the Celestial Church.
Evangelist Kingsley, speaking ahead of the celebration, described the occasion as a “prophetic season of divine blessings.” He emphasized that the harvest transcends tradition, calling it a moment of spiritual transformation. “The ‘Gift of Christ’ harvest is not just ceremonial; it is a divine encounter that ushers in testimonies—whether it be employment, fruitfulness, or other breakthroughs,” he said.
He urged parents to focus on preparing their children spiritually rather than being overly concerned with attire. “Children must come ready—with Bibles, writing materials, and open hearts. The emphasis is not on fancy garments but on readiness to receive the Word,” he stressed.
Chairman of the Juvenile Harvest Committee, Brother Emmanuel Adedokun, reiterated the importance of building a strong spiritual foundation. “This is a celebration of God’s heritage—our children. While we’ve planned Bible quizzes, music, and other enriching activities, the core focus remains spiritual grounding,” he explained. He reminded parents that Christian upbringing begins at home. “Church teachings alone cannot do it all,” he added.
Special Most Senior Evangelist Solomon Agemo, General Secretary of the Archdiocese, highlighted the unique role of children in this year’s harvest. “This event offers our young ones a chance to lead worship and demonstrate their scriptural understanding. They are not just the future—they are blessings for the present church,” he said. He also assured that hygiene measures, including handwashing facilities, would be in place throughout the event.
Juvenile Harvest Secretary Brother Segun Joshua cautioned against drifting from the church’s foundational teachings. “This isn’t just a time for celebration—it’s a moment for reflection on our children’s understanding of the Bible and Celestial doctrines. Some parishes have deviated from our founder’s vision. We must return to the core,” he said. He also encouraged Sunday School teachers to intensify their efforts, noting that future leaders of the church would rise from among today’s children.
The harvest weekend will commence with youth-centered activities and Bible competitions on Saturday, while Sunday will be dedicated strictly to worship, in alignment with the founder’s directive.
The church reaffirmed that all Celestial parishes globally are expected to observe the Juvenile Harvest on the first Sunday of June, in accordance with the instruction of the church’s founder, the late Pastor Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa. As the Makoko headquarters prepares for this landmark event, church leaders are urging parents and elders to uphold values of truth, discipline, and faith—ensuring the enduring legacy of the Celestial Church is passed on to future generations.
