Dangote, Saudi Envoy Explore Key Sector Cooperation

The Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Nigeria, Yousef bin Mohammed Al-Balawi, has reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Nigeria following a high-level meeting with Chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote.
Dangote paid a visit to the ambassador on Friday at his residence in the Diplomatic Quarter, Abuja, where both parties explored opportunities to expand cooperation across key sectors, including energy, industry and infrastructure.
Speaking after the meeting, Al-Balawi said the engagement underscores the growing momentum in Saudi–Nigerian economic relations. He noted that both countries share a strong and evolving economic partnership and expressed confidence in deepening collaboration through strategic investments.
The ambassador disclosed that discussions focused on investment opportunities of mutual interest, with particular attention given to outcomes from Dangote’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia. He added that prospects for the Dangote Group in the Kingdom, as well as opportunities for Saudi investors within the Group’s operations, were extensively examined.
Al-Balawi further highlighted the potential for Saudi investors to expand their footprint in Nigeria and across Africa through partnerships with Dangote Group companies.
The meeting concluded with a dinner hosted in honour of Dangote, during which the ambassador presented a commemorative gift, describing it as a symbol of the strong and growing ties between both nations.
Dangote, in his remarks, described the meeting as productive and expressed optimism about future collaborations. He said recent engagements in Saudi Arabia have opened new areas of cooperation and reaffirmed the Group’s commitment to building partnerships that will deliver mutual economic value.
