FirstBank Launches Dollar Fund for Women’s Network

By Ayomide Otitoju

FirstBank has introduced a dollar-denominated money market fund exclusively for members of the FirstBank Women Network, reinforcing its commitment to gender equity and financial empowerment.

The initiative was announced by FirstBank Group Chief Executive Officer, Olusegun Alebiosu, during the bank’s International Women’s Day event in Lagos. Represented by Executive Director of Retail Banking (South) Directorate, Seyi Oyefeso, Alebiosu stated that the fund allows women to invest in U.S. dollars with as little as $100 at competitive interest rates, offering a pathway for financial diversification.

Global Chair of the FirstBank Women Network, Olaitan Martins, urged women to take proactive steps in advancing their financial and professional aspirations, emphasizing that the time for waiting is over. Echoing this sentiment, Non-Executive Director Remi Odunlami encouraged female employees to embrace leadership roles by taking on challenging projects and making meaningful contributions to their departments.
