Gerrard desperate to have Aribo and Balogun back

Glasgow Rangers boss, Steven Gerrard is hoping to have Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun back for weekend.
The Super Eagles duo featured in the season opener against Livingston on Saturday, but missed Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League first leg third round defeat to Swedish side Malmo FF.

Rangers suffered 2-1 defeat to Malmo in Sweden and only a victory at the Ibrox next week will guarantee them passage to the next round.

Rangers will now turn their attention back to the domestic scene this weekend where they are scheduled to Dundee face United on Saturday, 7th of August.

The Gers will travel to Tannadice Park for the game and Coach Steven Gerrard said, he’s hoping to welcome Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun back for the game.

“I need to get some bodies back to help us,” Gerrard added. “You would have seen tonight that we’re very young in terms of the bench. It’s difficult throwing young lads into that situation and I wanted to protect them.

“At the weekend, I’m hoping to have [Joe] Aribo, [Glen] Kamara, [Leon] Balogun, [Kemar] Roofe, Jon [McLaughlin] comes back into the thinking as well so there’ll be a lot stronger in terms of the squad at the weekend, we’ll need to be and perform better.” He said.
