Gerrard warns Aribo, Balogun against complacency

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has  warned Leon Balogun, Joe Aribo and their teammates against complacency ahead of the 2021-2022 campaign.
The Gers will defend their Scottish title and compete in the UEFA Champions League next season as a result of emerging champions last season.
The team suffered a shocking 1-0 defeat in a friendly against Tranmere on Saturday and Steven Gerrard is disappointed with the effort the boys put in.
“I think the first two weeks is all about minutes, it’s all about getting people through it, it’s all about getting volume into the legs,” Gerrard told Rangers TV.
“If you’re not performing now we can’t carry anyone. The season is so important as we move along. People need to impress now and play well, otherwise they are not going to get many minutes.” he said.
Rangers will try to put the disappointment behind them when they face Arsenal Blackpool, Brighton and Real Madrid in the next coming weeks.
Rangers will begin their Scottish Premiership title defence against Livingston at Ibrox on 31 July.
