Leading telecommunications company, Globacom, on Monday presented Kia Picanto cars to two lucky winners in its ongoing loyalty reward promo, Festival of Joy, at a ceremony in Ibadan, Oyo State. Additionally, 65 more winners received prizes, including power generators, sewing machines, and grinding machines.
Lucky Winners Express Excitement
One of the car winners, Adeola Olatayo Silas, a 44-year-old quantity surveyor, was overwhelmed with joy upon seeing his new vehicle. “Wow, wow!” he exclaimed, adding that he had always hoped to win a prize in Globacom’s promos. “I am so delighted my desire has today become a reality,” he said.
Similarly, Seun Okeowo, a 39-year-old media practitioner and the second car winner, expressed his appreciation for the promotion. He commended Globacom’s efforts in spreading joy across the country, wishing the company continued success.
Among the other winners, Pastor Oluwole Abayomi from Akure, who won a power generator, initially doubted the call informing him of his win. “In fact, my brother told me to be careful as it could be a ploy to kidnap me,” he said, later expressing gratitude to Globacom. Oluwole Babatunde Olusegun, an Ibadan-based teacher who won a sewing machine, shared plans for his family to learn fashion design, while Waheed Azeez, a 51-year-old trailer driver who won a grinding machine, said his wife would use it for a milling business.
Oyo State Deputy Governor Applauds Globacom
The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Lawal, who graced the event as the Special Guest, commended Globacom for its continuous empowerment of Nigerians through its loyalty rewards. “Globacom is a pride of Nigeria and Africa, offering affordable and quality services while giving back to its customers,” he stated. He urged other companies to emulate Globacom’s commitment to customer appreciation.

Abdulazak Ande, Globacom’s Head of Business (West), explained that new and existing subscribers can participate by dialing ** *611#, opting into the promo, and recharging to meet the prize thresholds. New customers can join by purchasing and registering a new SIM and dialing ** *611#.
The event was attended by representatives of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), including Engr. Akinwale Akanbi, as well as prominent brand influencers such as comedian Seyi Law, Nollywood stars Odunlade Adekola, Tunde Usman (Okele), Bimbo Thomas, and Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi, and content creator Kiekie.
