Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) has been named the Best Bank for Corporate Social Responsibility in Nigeria at the 2024 Euromoney Awards for Excellence, in recognition of its significant contributions to society through various impactful CSR initiatives. These initiatives cover sectors such as education, health, community development, and financial inclusion.
In a statement released on Friday, the Group CEO of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc, Segun Agbaje, expressed his pride in the recognition, emphasizing the bank’s commitment to fostering positive societal change. “As a proudly African institution, we understand that our success is closely tied to the well-being of the communities in which we operate,” Agbaje said.
“Our dedication to corporate social responsibility stems from the belief that businesses must act as catalysts for sustainable progress and inclusive growth. Over the years, we have developed numerous free business platforms and sponsored impactful social causes that have benefited millions across Africa. This recognition from Euromoney highlights the far-reaching impact of our efforts and strengthens our resolve to continue creating enduring value for all,” Agbaje added.
Euromoney commended GTBank’s consumer-focused events such as the GTCO Food and Drink Festival and the GTCO Fashion Weekend, both of which provide free business opportunities for entrepreneurs. Additionally, the bank’s Annual GTCO Autism Programme, which supports individuals with autism spectrum disorder, was also praised.
This accolade further bolsters GTBank’s growing list of achievements, which includes twelve Euromoney Best Bank in Nigeria awards, along with recognition as Nigeria’s Strongest Brand and Best Banking Brand in the country.
