Lagos State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, has inaugurated the PBAT/KOH Lagos Central Campaign Office, urging residents to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Hamzat made the call on Monday during the commissioning of the campaign office on Harden Street, Lagos Island, saying voter mobilisation would be crucial to the party’s electoral prospects.

He said Lagos had a responsibility to support Tinubu’s re-election, citing the President’s longstanding political connection to the state and the need for continuity in his administration’s policies.

The deputy governor noted that Lagos had the highest number of registered voters in the country, stressing the importance of translating the figures into actual votes.

“We are commissioning this office today to take our campaign to the grassroots. We know Lagos Island has been doing really well in voting, but that is not enough, as many people still do not vote,” he said.

Hamzat urged residents, particularly those in the Lagos Central Senatorial District, to participate actively in the elections and vote for all APC candidates.

He cited voter turnout in Osun State’s last election as a reminder of the need to encourage greater participation, urging supporters to mobilise their families, neighbours and community members ahead of election day.

In his goodwill message, the senator representing Lagos Central, Wasiu Eshilokun-Sanni, described the campaign office as a milestone for the party, saying it symbolised unity and efforts to consolidate its political presence.

Eshilokun-Sanni urged party members to remain united, maintain discipline and engage constructively with residents while strengthening grassroots mobilisation across communities and markets.

Similarly, the Lagos State APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, said the office would strengthen coordination between the senatorial district and the state party leadership, while helping to communicate the party’s policies and achievements across local governments, wards and polling units.

Ojelabi urged party members to promote the achievements of Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the grassroots. He also encouraged eligible voters who had yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so, while calling for peaceful campaigns and issue-based engagement.

The Director-General of the PBAT-KOH Lagos Campaign Organisation, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, described the office as a reflection of Lagos Central’s political importance to the APC.

Obanikoro called on party members and supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation and campaign activities in support of Tinubu’s re-election bid and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
