Caroline Hedwall fired a brilliant round of 64 to become the first woman to hold the solo lead at a European Tour event on day two of the Scandinavian Mixed.
Local favourite Hedwall carded the lowest round of the week so far in round two to get to 13-under and lead the way by one from Dutchman Joost Luiten.

Hedwall scored two eagles – including a holed bunker shot – to go with five birdies and a single dropped shot in her 8-under 64 second round at Vallda Golf and Country Club.

“I was a bit lucky out there today. I made two eagles and made a bunker shot, it was very enjoyable,” said Hedwall.
“If you look at the leaderboard, it looks like they have set it up pretty fair, but it’s hard to judge. I think looking at the mix of the players on the leaderboard, I think they have done a good job because it’s obviously tough.”
South Africa’s Darren Fichardt carded a 5-under 67 to sit tied for third on 11-under with England’s Steven Brown.
“I’m very pleased. This is my fourth tournament this year, it’s good to back and I absolutely love this golf course,” said Fichardt.
“It’s a thinking golf course. You really have to think your way around, and I’m making a couple of putts, which is nice.
“I heard that this wind will be up tomorrow. I quite like the wind. I’ll play a completely different golf course to what we’ve played the last two days;
I saw they didn’t cut the greens for today because they are expecting some hectic wind. I’ll just go out there, keep the ball in play, give myself some birdie opportunities and see what happens.”
Host and local favourite Henrik Stenson carded a 70 to sit at four-under to make the weekend, while fellow tournament host Annika Sorenstam signed for a second consecutive 73 to miss the cut.
