By Ayomide Otitoju

A new stage production titled I Wish I Wish is set to mark a major milestone in Nigeria’s cultural and performing arts landscape, with organisers describing it as a high-energy, imagination-driven show designed to appeal to audiences of all ages.
The production, which blends music, storytelling, and vibrant stage design, will transport audiences into a world where dreams and creativity take centre stage.
According to organisers, the show represents a historic moment for the National Theatre, as it will be the first original in-house production staged at its Main Bowl. The development is being described as a significant step in the institution’s renewed creative direction.
They said the production signals a return to large-scale theatrical performances and reflects a strengthened commitment to developing and showcasing original world-class works locally.
With its colourful narrative, dynamic performances, and immersive stagecraft, I Wish I Wish is expected to deliver a memorable theatrical experience while reinforcing the National Theatre’s position as a hub for innovative artistic expression.
