The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has confirmed the abduction of two of its employees in Ogun State.
In a statement, the company said the incident occurred on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, around the Ogunmakin axis along the Ibadan–Ijebu Ode Road, while the workers were on duty.
IBEDC expressed concern over the development, noting that it was working with security agencies to ensure the safe rescue of the affected staff.
“We are deeply concerned about this situation, and our thoughts are with our colleagues and their families,” the company said.
The utility firm added that it was in contact with the families of the abducted workers and providing necessary support, while withholding further details due to ongoing rescue efforts.
It urged the public to remain patient and allow security agencies to handle the situation, assuring that updates would be provided as appropriate.
