Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) on Sunday vowed to target Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as tensions escalate in the ongoing conflict involving Israel and the United States.
“If this child-killing criminal is alive, we will continue to pursue and kill him with full force,” the Guards said in a statement on their official website, Sepah News.
Meanwhile, Iranian authorities arrested at least 20 individuals in the country’s northwest on suspicion of collaborating with Israel, local media reported. The detentions occurred during raids in the West Azerbaijan province, targeting networks allegedly sending sensitive information to Israeli forces, according to provincial prosecutor Hossein Majidi, as cited by the Fars news agency.
“Twenty people were arrested and detained” for transmitting details of military, law enforcement, and security sites to the “Zionist enemy,” the agency added.
The arrests are part of broader security operations across Iran, which have seen hundreds of people detained in recent days on allegations of cooperating with Israel and the United States, local reports indicate.
The conflict intensified following US-Israeli strikes on February 28 that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, prompting retaliatory actions from Tehran.
