The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a procedure allowing candidates who have lost access to their registered phone numbers or email accounts to update their contact details.
The board announced the policy review on its X handle on Monday, September 21, 2026, saying eligible candidates can change their registered GSM numbers and/or email addresses through a controlled process involving identity and biometric verification.
JAMB said the service commenced on Monday and is available exclusively at designated JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, including state offices where applicable.
The board said the measure was introduced specifically for candidates who had lost access to their registered SIM cards or email accounts.
“Lost access to your registered SIM or email? JAMB has reviewed its policy to allow candidates with genuine cases to update their GSM number and/or email address through a secure and controlled process,” the board said.
JAMB added that the service can be used only once and is subject to strict identity and biometric verification.
Candidates seeking to use the service are required to provide their new GSM number and/or email address, as well as a duly executed court affidavit prepared for scanning and uploading.
The board reiterated that all requests must be processed at designated JAMB CBT (PTC/PRC) centres, including state offices where applicable.
It also advised candidates to protect their personal information and avoid unauthorised channels.
“Do not patronise unauthorised persons or channels,” JAMB warned.
