According to a statement signed by JAMB Registrar Ishaq Oloyede, UTME registration will begin in January 2026 and close in March 2026, with the examination scheduled to hold from Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 25. A mock UTME is set for Saturday, March 28, 2026.
The board noted that UTME is open to suitably qualified candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions, including those from foreign countries. Registration for all candidates is set from Monday, January 26 to Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Candidates must have obtained a National Identification Number (NIN) prior to registration. Generally, applicants must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026. Those under 16 will undergo intensive evaluation to determine eligibility and must score at least 80% in relevant assessments, including UTME, A-Level, PUTME, and SSCE. Results for underage candidates will be released after the completion of the evaluation process.
For Direct Entry candidates, the sale of application documents and E-PIN vending will run from Monday, March 2 to Saturday, April 25, 2026, and will be available only at JAMB’s state and zonal offices.
JAMB stressed that all eligible candidates should complete registration within the stipulated timelines to participate in the 2026 admissions process.
