LAMATA Trains Ticketing, Ground Staff to Boost Customer Service

By Ayomide Otitoju

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has conducted another round of capacity-building training for ticketing officers and ground staff under the state’s regulated bus transit scheme. The simultaneous sessions, held at the Ikeja and Ojota bus terminals, formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen frontline service delivery across the network.

The training focused on improving customer service techniques and ensuring higher levels of passenger satisfaction. Participants were reminded that, as representatives of LAMATA, their conduct must reflect the values of an organisation operating under International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards.

LAMATA officials also briefed staff on penalties for improper behaviour, emphasising the Authority’s zero-tolerance stance on misconduct and its commitment to maintaining professional, accountable operations.

The session attracted notable industry figures, including Hajia Aisha Ibrahim, Managing Director of Confluence Logistics and Transport Consults Ltd and President of Women in Transport and Logistics (WILAT), highlighting the strategic importance of the programme.

According to LAMATA, the training is designed to ensure that all frontline personnel deliver consistent, professional and customer-focused service across Lagos’ expanding transit system.
