The Gbagada Jasmine Lions Club has donated books, exercise book, snacks and other items to kiniun-Ifa Nursery & Primary school and Araromi Primary School all in Gbagada, Lagos State was anchored around promoting culture and also educating the students the need to imbibe to imbibe a reading culture from the tender age.
Speaking at the event, which took place on the premises of the school , Lion Ada Okorie, president of Gbagada Jasmine Lions Club, said that the donation of the books and others were part of the efforts of members of the club to contribute to the education of the students of the school. She stated that education is the best legacy a society can give to her young ones, adding that the club would contribute to lifting education in Lagos State.
”We are happy that we have contributed our quota toward development of the schools and we look toward more beneficial and above all whatever we do ,we do it for society to grow.”she said
Also speaking at the event, Mrs. Fafetire Modupe Olufunmilayo, said that she was very happy that the club chose to donate textbooks, exercise books and others to them, adding that that was not the first time the club member had donated one item or the other to her school.
Receiving the books, the headteacher of the Araromi Primary school, Mrs Fafetire Olufunmilayo thanked the lion club for the gesture, assuring that the book would be put into judicious use.
