David Okereke could now most likely return to Italy and team up with fellow Nigeria star Tyronne Ebuehi at newly promoted Serie A club Venezia.
Okereke does not have a future at Belgian champions Club Brugge, who splashed eight Million Euros for him two years ago, and the way out for the forward could now be for him to go on loan at Venezia with the option for the Italian club to buy after the season.
Italian transfer expert Giancula Di Marzio has reported Okereke will head back to Italy, where he previously featured for Spezia in the Serie B.
Venezia only finished fifth in Serie B last season, but were still able to be promoted to Serie A via the play-offs.
Lately, Okereke, who was an unused sub in Friday’s Brugge Derby versus Cercle Brugge, has been linked to Turkish giants Besiktas, Fenerbahçe as well as Serie A side Sampdoria.
