MTN Go M.A.D. Campaign Empowers Changemakers in Aba

By Ayomide Otitoju

MTN Nigeria’s Go Make A Difference (Go M.A.D.) campaign arrived in Aba, Abia State, on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Sugarland, Luxury City Hotel, continuing its mission of celebrating and empowering local changemakers.

Having already made stops in Abuja, Enugu, Calabar, Ibadan, and Benin, the initiative aims to inspire individuals to take bold steps in their communities and professional fields.

Among the key figures at the event was Prinna Nnanna, a fashion designer, model coach, and creative director of Style by Prinna. Nnanna, renowned for mentoring aspiring models in Aba, transformed the gathering into a runway showcase, unveiling a new line of athleisure wear.

“I had been following the MTN Go M.A.D. campaign online, especially the Calabar and Enugu editions,” Nnanna said. “When I learned MTN was bringing it to Aba, I knew I had to be part of it. Initially, I was just asked to design an outfit for the hotel manager, but then I was invited to showcase more of my work. I made all the outfits you saw on the runway last night.”

Nnanna also credited MTN for supporting his brand. “I run an online business, and MTN enables me to advertise, network, and connect with customers. Just at this event, two people already reached out, saying they loved my designs.”

Also honored as a Go M.A.D. icon was Dr. Precious Uche, CEO of Tonatel Beauty and Spa, who is committed to redefining beauty standards in Nigeria.

“There are so many damaging ideas about what good skin should look like,” Dr. Uche said. “My business stands against skin bleaching and promotes the message that black is beautiful. I want people to appreciate their natural skin tone.”

She noted that MTN’s data services have helped expand her customer base across Owerri and Aba, as well as grow her advocacy online.

Fashion entrepreneur Michael Chinedu Ogbonna, founder of Mua Couture, also shared how technology has transformed his business.

“The internet has made the world a global village,” Ogbonna said. “What used to take days now takes minutes. I now design clothes for clients not just in Nigeria, but in Malaysia, the U.S., and Canada.”

With each stop, the Go M.A.D. campaign amplifies real stories of transformation, reinforcing the belief that small actions can create lasting impact. MTN remains committed to celebrating the resilience, creativity, and determination of Nigerians, with more cities set to host the campaign in the coming weeks.
