MTN Nigeria Communications Plc has announced an investment of more than ₦620 billion in digital infrastructure during the first half of 2026, as the telecommunications company continues to expand network capacity, improve coverage and accelerate broadband connectivity across the country.
The announcement accompanied the release of the company’s H1 2026 financial results, which reflected strong growth in revenue and profitability.
According to MTN Nigeria, the investment is aimed at strengthening the infrastructure supporting Nigeria’s growing digital economy as demand for data and digital services continues to increase.
The company said the capital expenditure was directed towards expanding network capacity, enhancing coverage and accelerating home broadband deployment to improve connectivity for individuals, businesses and communities nationwide.
MTN Nigeria noted that the investments are designed not only to improve technology infrastructure but also to support economic growth, innovation and digital inclusion across Nigeria.
Following its strong financial performance, the company’s Board approved an interim dividend of ₦26 per share, providing returns to shareholders, including individual investors and institutional investors such as pension funds.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining investments that will enhance customer experience, improve network reliability and service quality, while strengthening engagement with customers and stakeholders through greater transparency and accountability.
MTN Nigeria also expressed appreciation to the Federal Government, industry regulators and its partners for their continued collaboration in advancing Nigeria’s digital transformation.
The company thanked its customers for their continued support, describing their trust as central to its operations and long-term growth strategy.
