Nestlé Nigeria Unveils Judges for 2024 Media Awards

Nestlé Nigeria has announced the distinguished panel of judges for the 2024 Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards, an annual event celebrating journalistic excellence across the nation. Now in its fourth year, the awards recognize media professionals who spotlight critical issues such as nutrition security, environmental sustainability, and socio-economic development.

The panel features notable experts, including:

Dr. Chioma Emma-Nwachukwu, Programs Lead, Lagos Chapter, Nutrition Society of Nigeria, renowned for her work in nutrition and public health.
Rosemary Otalor, Account Director at APO Group, with extensive expertise in media relations and communications.
Dr. Sunday John, Senior Lecturer at the School of Media and Communications, Pan-Atlantic University, an authority in media studies and journalism.
Oreva Atanya, Director of the LBS Sustainability Center, Pan-Atlantic University, recognized for her contributions to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
Victoria Uwadoka, Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, and Sustainability Lead at Nestlé Nigeria, and an award-winning leader in corporate communications.
Speaking about the judges, Victoria Uwadoka remarked, “We are thrilled to have such a distinguished panel for this year’s Nestlé Media Awards. Their expertise in media, journalism, nutrition, and sustainability will bring fresh perspectives to the evaluation process. In line with our purpose of unlocking the power of food to enhance quality of life, the awards are part of our commitment to empowering the media to deliver fact-based reporting that improves nutrition and behavioral choices.”

This year’s entries, totaling 285 from journalists nationwide, closed on November 8. Submissions will be assessed on key thematic areas, including Nutrition and Affordable Food Solutions, Environmental Sustainability, Youth Empowerment, Women Empowerment, Community Development, Finance, and Agriculture. Stories will also be judged on accuracy, originality, impact, balance, depth, and adherence to ethical standards.

Winners will be unveiled at a prestigious ceremony in December, where the most compelling and impactful stories will be honored.
