The Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) in Abuja, where both organisations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration in the nation’s energy sector.
During the meeting, NNPC Ltd. and the regulatory authority renewed their resolve to work closely to enhance Nigeria’s energy security, promote national prosperity and deliver on the Presidential mandate to boost oil production, deepen gas utilisation, expand refining capacity and attract investment into the sector.
Speaking during the visit, Ojulari said NNPC Ltd.’s strategic direction is anchored on disciplined execution and operational excellence, emphasising that profitability remains central to its commercial operations. He noted that the 2026 NNPC Gas Master Plan is a targeted initiative aimed at increasing gas off-take and driving greater value creation across the downstream value chain.
In his response, the Authority Chief Executive of NMDPRA, Engr. Saidu Aliyu Mohammed, pledged sustained regulatory support and partnership with NNPC Ltd. to advance initiatives that will secure Nigeria’s energy future. He commended the recent launch of the NNPC Gas Master Plan 2026, describing gas as Nigeria’s cleaner transition fuel, while stressing the importance of maintaining a balanced energy mix to meet rising domestic demand.
