Otedola Backs Tinubu’s Tax Reforms as Key to Economic Growth

By Ayomide Otitoju

Business mogul Femi Otedola has endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s recent signing of four tax reform bills into law, describing the move as pivotal to economic transparency and growth.

In a statement on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Otedola commended the reforms, saying they would “promote fairness, reduce complexity, and rebuild confidence in public revenue systems.”

He added that the reforms would help fund infrastructure and foster inclusive economic growth. “I am inspired to invest more, and many other investors share the same sentiment,” he stated.

The laws—Nigeria Tax Bill, Tax Administration Bill, Revenue Service Bill, and Joint Revenue Board Bill—are set to take effect on January 1, 2026. FIRS Chairman Zacch Adedeji said the transition period would allow time for public sensitization and systemic adaptation.
