First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has paid tribute to teachers across the nation in commemoration of World Teachers’ Day 2025, describing them as “true heroes” who shape minds, nurture dreams, and guide generations toward greatness.
In a message released on Saturday, October 5, to mark the global celebration themed “Focusing on the Global Teacher Shortage,” the First Lady emphasized the urgent need for concerted efforts to tackle the growing shortage of teachers worldwide.
She noted that this year’s theme underscores the vital role of educators in nation-building and the importance of empowering and investing in their professional growth.
“The shortage of teachers is a challenge we must confront with urgency by empowering educators, investing in their growth, and inspiring more to join this noble profession,” she stated.
Describing herself as a lifelong teacher, Senator Tinubu expressed admiration for the dedication and resilience of Nigerian educators, acknowledging their sacrifices and impact on future generations.
“Teachers are true heroes, shaping minds, nurturing dreams, and guiding generations. As a lifelong teacher myself, I salute you all on this special day,” she said.
The First Lady concluded by extending warm wishes to all teachers, reaffirming their indispensable role in national development and human progress.
